Is slip-resistance modification the same as slip testing?
No. Testing measures slip potential under stated conditions. Modification is corrective work carried out after the floor, contamination risks and operating environment have been assessed.
What treatments can improve measured slip performance?
The appropriate option depends on the substrate. It may involve restorative cleaning, removal of a contaminated finish, a compatible surface treatment or a protective coating system.
Can you verify the improvement after treatment?
Yes. Where appropriate, we conduct pendulum testing before and after treatment and provide documented PTV results under the agreed test conditions.
Does a better PTV mean the floor is universally safe?
No single result removes the need for a suitable slip-risk assessment. Contamination, footwear, cleaning, pedestrian use and the wider environment also affect slip risk.
