Working while you’re closed

Resilient & Safety Floors

Recolour the floor you have, don’t replace it.

Dr Schutz PU colour systems renew worn, dated or damaged vinyl and LVT with a durable new colour finish — installed overnight for a fraction of replacement cost.

Fixed proposal for the agreed scope · Access and handover confirmed in writing

Handover planned around your operation

What it is designed to achieve

The alternative your flooring contractor won’t mention.

Replacing a commercial vinyl floor means capital spend, days of disruption, waste disposal and downtime. Dr Schutz PU recolouring applies a hard-wearing, colour-stable polyurethane finish over the existing floor — new colour, new wear layer, same floor, one night at a time.

A new floor, without the floor

Full colour change over existing vinyl and LVT — including fresh, contemporary shades.

Proven Dr Schutz system

A purpose-made commercial PU colour system with a durable, cleanable wear surface.

Fraction of replacement cost

Typically a small share of the cost of relaying — with none of the landfill.

Phased out of hours

Sections are recoloured and cured overnight, so the space keeps working throughout.

When to consider this service

Signs the floor needs a closer assessment.

  • The floor is serviceable but permanently discoloured
  • A colour change would avoid premature replacement
  • Wear is concentrated in high-traffic areas

Floors and environments covered

Compatible LVT, vinyl and linoleum assessed for Dr Schutz PU preparation and coating systems.

Operational and curing considerations

Timing depends on floor condition, preparation, area size, drying or curing requirements and the access available. These are confirmed in the written proposal before work is agreed.

We work while you’re closed

Delivered out of hours, as standard.

Most contractors expect your business to work around them. We work around you. Here’s what a typical overnight programme looks like — from the moment you lock up to the moment you open on restored floors.

  1. 17:30

    Your business closes

Staff and customers head home. Your premises are handed over under agreed access protocols.

  2. 18:00

    Zest arrives

Our technicians arrive on site with everything needed — no deliveries, no daytime setup.

  3. Overnight

    Professional restoration

The full restoration is completed while the building is empty. No noise complaints, no closed-off areas.

  4. 05:30

    Final inspection

Every area is checked, dried and signed off against the agreed specification.

  5. 08:00

    You open on restored floors

Doors open at the agreed handover time, to a floor that looks new. Your team simply arrives to the result.

Access, security and keyholding protocols are agreed before any work begins. Weekend and closure-period programmes are available where an overnight window isn’t enough.

  3. 03

Agree the proposal and access plan

The scope, fixed price for the agreed work, timing, access and handover requirements are confirmed in writing.

  4. 04

Questions, answered

What facilities teams ask us.

If your question isn’t covered, the assessment is the fastest way to a straight answer — free and without obligation.

How durable is a recoloured floor?

The Dr Schutz PU wear layer is designed for commercial traffic and typically performs like a new floor’s finish when maintained correctly. We provide a maintenance specification at handover.

Which floors can be recoloured?

Sound vinyl, LVT and linoleum are ideal candidates. The substrate must be intact — recolouring renews the surface, it doesn’t repair failed flooring. The assessment confirms suitability.

Can we choose any colour?

There’s a wide commercial palette, including options to freshen a space or match brand guidelines. We bring samples to the assessment.

Why choose recolouring over replacement?

Cost, speed and continuity: no closure, no capital project, no waste skips through reception. If replacement genuinely is the better option for your floor, we’ll tell you that at the assessment.
