How out-of-hours works

Your floors are our night shift.

Every service we offer is delivered when your building is empty — overnight, at weekends or during closures. This page explains exactly how that works: scheduling, access, security and sign-off.

Why it matters

Disruption is the real cost of floor care.

A quote is a number; disruption is the hidden invoice behind it — lost trade, displaced staff, cordoned corridors, complaints. Removing disruption from the equation is worth more than any discount, and it’s the entire reason Zest works the hours it does.

Overnight

The standard model: work begins after your last person leaves and signs off before your first person arrives. Ideal for offices, retail and hospitality.

Weekends

For work that needs a longer window — larger floor plates, longer cure times — delivered between Friday close and Monday open.

Closure periods

School holidays, seasonal shutdowns, refurbishment windows: the big restorations, programmed well in advance to use every day of the closure.

    Our technicians arrive on site with everything needed — no deliveries, no daytime setup.

    Professional restoration

    The full restoration is completed while the building is empty. No noise complaints, no closed-off areas.

    Final inspection

    Every area is checked, dried and signed off against the agreed specification.

    You open on restored floors

    Doors open on time, to a floor that looks new. Your team simply arrives to the result.

Every visit ends with a completed checklist: areas restored, floors dry, building secured. You get the record without having to be there.

Does out-of-hours work cost more?

No — it’s how we operate, not a premium add-on. Our quotations are fixed and itemised, and out-of-hours delivery is the standard they’re built on.

How does building access work?

However suits your security arrangements: a keyholder on site, key or fob handover under signed protocol, or coordination with your existing security provider. The arrangement is documented before any work begins.

What if something goes wrong at 2am?

You have a named contact with an out-of-hours number, and agreed escalation procedures for building issues. In practice the most common 2am event is the work finishing early.

Can you really finish before we open?

Yes — because programmes are sized to the window. If a floor genuinely needs more time than one night, we phase it across several, and every area we touch is back in service by morning.

Who is responsible for security while you work?

Responsibilities are split explicitly in the access protocol: what we secure, what your keyholder or security provider covers, and how handover is confirmed. Nothing is assumed.
