Handover planned around your operation

What it is designed to achieve

A coating should solve a defined problem.

Protective coatings can improve cleanability, renew a worn finish and create a sacrificial wear layer. They must also be compatible with the floor and its use. We assess, prepare and sample where appropriate before recommending a system.

Substrate-led specification

The coating is selected for the existing floor, traffic level, contamination risk and maintenance regime.

Preparation included

Cleaning and mechanical preparation are treated as part of the system, not an optional extra.

Cure time programmed

Access and handover are agreed around product cure requirements and your operational window.

Finish and aftercare recorded

Handover documents the applied system and the maintenance approach needed to protect it.

When to consider this service

Signs the floor needs a closer assessment.

  • A restored floor needs a compatible wear layer
  • Traffic or cleaning demands have changed
  • The finish must be easier to maintain

Floors and environments covered

Compatible resilient and hard floors following substrate, traffic and maintenance assessment.

Operational and curing considerations

Timing depends on floor condition, preparation, area size, drying or curing requirements and the access available. These are confirmed in the written proposal before work is agreed.

We work while you’re closed

Delivered out of hours, as standard.

Most contractors expect your business to work around them. We work around you. Here’s what a typical overnight programme looks like — from the moment you lock up to the moment you open on restored floors.

  1. 17:30

    Your business closes

Staff and customers head home. Your premises are handed over under agreed access protocols.

  2. 18:00

    Zest arrives

Our technicians arrive on site with everything needed — no deliveries, no daytime setup.

  3. Overnight

    Professional restoration

The full restoration is completed while the building is empty. No noise complaints, no closed-off areas.

  4. 05:30

    Final inspection

Every area is checked, dried and signed off against the agreed specification.

  5. 08:00

    You open on restored floors

Doors open at the agreed handover time, to a floor that looks new. Your team simply arrives to the result.

Access, security and keyholding protocols are agreed before any work begins. Weekend and closure-period programmes are available where an overnight window isn’t enough.

How it works

Four steps. Minimal disruption.

From first phone call to sign-off, the process is designed around your operating hours — not ours.

  1. 01

Send photos or arrange an assessment

Start with whichever is easier. You do not need to identify the floor or treatment first.

  2. 02

    Receive an honest recommendation

We explain the condition, suitable options and whether restoration or replacement is the better decision.

  3. 03

Agree the proposal and access plan

The scope, fixed price for the agreed work, timing, access and handover requirements are confirmed in writing.

  4. 04

    Complete and document handover

Work is inspected at the agreed handover point, with records and practical aftercare recommendations supplied.

Questions, answered

What facilities teams ask us.

If your question isn’t covered, the assessment is the fastest way to a straight answer — free and without obligation.

Which floors can receive a protective coating?

Suitability varies by system but may include sound vinyl, linoleum, LVT and other compatible resilient surfaces. We confirm adhesion, contamination and substrate condition first.

Will a coating change the floor appearance?

It can. Clear, matt, satin, gloss and coloured systems are available for different substrates. We agree the appearance and can prepare a sample area where useful.

Can a coating improve slip performance?

Some systems can influence measured slip performance, but the correct response depends on the floor and conditions. Where slip potential is the concern, assessment and testing should inform the specification.

How long before the floor can be used?

That depends on the product, temperature, humidity and traffic requirement. Cure time is stated in the proposal and built into the agreed handover programme.
